The X-Sync™ 2 Eagle chainring is radically new. SRAM's engineers examined the performance and wear of thousands of X-Sync™ chainrings. Chainrings of every size were subjected to all conceivable stresses, in the test laboratory and off-road. The goal was a chainring that would increase the performance of the Eagle group under all operating conditions. The result: The chainring teeth are longer and shaped like a saw blade in order to grip the Eagle chain perfectly. The new chainring increases the chain tension and efficiency when pedaling. At the same time, friction, chain noise and wear are reduced.
